Black Miami Weekend Vol. 6

The assignment

Black Miami Weekend Volume 6 was a multi day cultural gathering created as a love letter to Black Miami and to everyone who shows up. Across five events centered on dining, community, history, celebration, and rest, Jade Lilly Studio developed the visual identity and environments that connected the full weekend through joy, togetherness, and frolic culture.

Jade’s role

Jade served as Creative Director for the complete visual aesthetic and environment across all five events: she developed the visual language for the full weekend, shaped the spatial design and flow of each setting, directed setup teams, and designed interactive elements to each event’s purpose.

What was created

• Creative direction across four events
• Spatial and environmental design for every setting
• Dinner table decor and complete Elevated Eats design
• Custom cloud environments for dinner and nightlife
• Backdrop design and installation for the park talk
• Portrait activation with personalized joy text
• Final portrait gallery delivered within one week

Guest experience

Guests moved from the Elevated Eats herbal dinner, anchored by the question “What is your highest joy?”, to a park teach in, the cloud wrapped Silky Party, and a beach kickback. Jade photographed each guest in a moody smoke inspired portrait, and every image carried the guest’s own answer: “My highest joy is ___.”
